Hayden Hanes
Harbour Flies Co-Founder
Hayden ties flies for mostly trout, striped bass, bluefish, and false albacore. Recently, Hayden has learned a great deal from Ian Devlin - a local legend. He specializes in trout and striped bass flies, but also catches stripers, trout, salmon, and blues. For striped bass, Hayden fishes in Fishers Island throughout the summer and other places in the Long Island Sound in the spring and early summer. As far as trout fishing goes, he's quite familiar with the Mianus River, and surrounding rivers throughout Connecticut and New York.
Liam Mathews
Harbour Flies Co-Founder
Liam is a respected fisherman and fly tier. He fishes locally in the Long Island sound and consistently hunting striped bass throughout the seasons. Asides from tossing flies he spends time depicting his life on the water. Regularly contributing to our gallery with soulful photographs. He’s always tying in the Harbour Flies shop using his creativity to create new patterns and ultimately testing them out on the sound. His instagram is @Liam.mathews6, he loves talking about fishing so definitely reach out to him via DM's.
Mac Ryan
Mac hand ties each of our freshwater flies with precision. He began tying flies out of his garage when he was 12 years old. Since then, he has continuously honed his skills and is passionate about matching flies with varying conditions and species. He specializes in fly tying for trout and is known for his well performing nymphs. He only sells patterns that he trusts and uses himself. He is familiar with the rivers and streams in the Croton Watershed, the Mianus River and surrounding rivers in CT, as well as sections of the Beaverkill. In summers, he targets striped bass in Long Island Sound and has taught himself to tie salt water flies as well. He loves exploring new water and is always on the hunt for the next successful fly.
